Grand Teton: Jackson Lake & Colter Bay
Two days in Grand Teton National Park at the most relaxed possible pace — arriving at Colter Bay Village on Jackson Lake, walking the lakeshore, taking a guided lake cruise, and sitting with the direct mountain view that the lake's north end provides. Colter Bay is the most unpretentious of the park's lodging areas: a cluster of log cabins on a Jackson Lake peninsula with a marina, a general store, a restaurant, and the Indian Arts Museum in the visitor center. The second day covers the lake's southern shore with a visit to the Signal Mountain summit road and the best valley-level view of the Teton front. Jenny Lake in the afternoon gives the iconic close-up mountain reflection before the return to Jackson. The itinerary involves minimal walking and maximum time in the landscape.
