Hooker Falls

The easiest and most family-friendly of DuPont's waterfalls, Hooker Falls is a broad 12-foot curtain where the Little River spills into a wide swimming hole, reached by a flat half-mile stroll from the Hooker Falls parking area. In summer the pool below is a beloved swimming and wading spot, and the short trail makes it the perfect warm-up on the first morning. It's the gentlest of the day's three falls and a good place to gauge the crowds before moving on. Arrive early, as the popular parking lot fills quickly on weekends.

Triple Falls & High Falls Loop

From the Hooker Falls area, a well-graded loop of forest roads and trails links DuPont's two showpiece cascades. Triple Falls tumbles in three broad tiers over roughly 120 feet — its lower ledge featured prominently in 'The Hunger Games' — with a rock shelf perfect for a mid-hike rest. A little farther on, High Falls thunders over an 150-foot granite face, best seen from the covered viewing platform or the base trail. Rainbow Falls Trail
