South of Hanna Park, the twin towns of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach share a long, gently sloping strand that is the heart of the Jacksonville beach scene. The sand here is broad and firm — locals bike and drive-free-walk it for miles — and the low-rise, tree-shaded neighborhoods behind it keep the whole area feeling relaxed and residential. It is an easy place to swim, walk, or watch the surfers before drifting into the Town Center. Public access points with parking run all along the shore at the ends of the numbered streets.
