🌿 RelaxedLong weekend · from Jacksonville, FL
Florida to Georgia Coastal Retreat
Three relaxed days along the stretch of Atlantic coast between Jacksonville and the Georgia Golden Isles — the quietest, most intact section of the Florida-Georgia coastal corridor. Amelia Island opens the trip with its Victorian shrimp harbor and 13-mile Atlantic beach. Jekyll Island on day two is the former playground of America's Gilded Age plutocracy, now a state park with bike paths connecting bleached driftwood beaches and Gilded Age ruins. St. Augustine closes the loop on day three with a slow morning in the oldest planned city in North America before the short drive home. None of the three destinations requires more than an hour of driving from the last; the pace is entirely about wandering, swimming, and eating well.
Day 1 — Amelia Island: Fernandina Beach Victorian waterfront, Atlantic beachDay 2 — Jekyll Island: Driftwood Beach, Gilded Age historic district, uncrowded Atlantic shoreDay 3 — St. Augustine: colonial streets, Castillo de San Marcos, Anastasia State Park
