Mississippi River Levee Walk
A short drive from Lakeport, the great earthen Mississippi River levee rises above the fields — the largest engineered structure in the region and the thin line that holds the river out of the Delta. A walk or ride along the levee crest gives an open, elevated view over the batture woods to the river itself, with barge traffic pushing upstream and the Mississippi shore beyond.
