The 1880 Train — Black Hills Central Railroad

Prairie Berry Winery
Just north of Hill City along Highway 385, Prairie Berry is one of the pioneers of Black Hills winemaking, tracing its roots to a family homesteading and fruit-wine tradition that reaches back more than a century and five generations. The winery is best known for its fruit and grape blends — its Red Ass Rhubarb, a rhubarb wine, is a signature — alongside plum, chokecherry, and other regional-fruit bottlings that have collected national medals. The tasting room offers flights across the range, and the tap room next door pours the affiliated Miner Brewing Company's beers for non-wine drinkers. With a patio looking out on the pines, it is an easy, scenic place to close out the Hill City day before the drive back.
