Joseph Main Street bronze sculpture walk

Old Chief Joseph Gravesite & Nez Perce Memorial
At the north end of Wallowa Lake, on a small rise overlooking the water, lies the grave of Old Chief Joseph (Tuekakas), father of the more famous Chief Joseph and a leader of the Wallowa band of the Nez Perce. This is sacred ground — the burial site of a man who resisted the loss of his people's homeland, reinterred here in 1926 beneath a granite monument managed as part of Nez Perce National Historical Park. Historic Enterprise & the Wallowa County Courthouse

A short walk takes in the courthouse square, the historic commercial blocks, and shops and galleries that carry the region's arts tradition.
